When you have traditional braces, the wires in the mouth can result in pain. If the wires become loose or undone, they can scratch and poke the inside of the mouth, resulting in discomfort and pain. Fortunately, dental wax can help relieve the pain.

What Is Dental Wax?

Dental wax is a dental product that prevents loose brackets and wires from poking at the insides of your mouth. It helps prevent gum irritation and consequently results in an overall lessening of the pain. Dental wax is made from natural wax.

How to Use Dental Wax

       The first step is to choose the right dental wax.

       When using the wax, wash your hands with soapy water for at least twenty seconds.

       Dry your hands and then properly brush and floss your teeth.

       Get a small amount of wax (one-fourth of an inch and then roll it between your fingers till it forms a soft ball.

       Take the ball of wax in your thumb and smooth the wax over the wire or bracket that is causing you discomfort.

       Ensure it sticks properly by rubbing the wax a few times - it should feel like a small bump.

The method mentioned above is the easiest way to use wax for dental braces. Make sure to use it, as it can get rid of the discomfort and scratching in the inner part of your mouth.
