A Rapid City, South Dakota Orthodontic Practice

At Orthodontics of the Black Hills, you can expect a friendly, clean, professional, and comfortable visit. In addition to traditional orthodontics, we provide treatments for TMJ and other jaw-related problems. Our team is well trained and well versed in orthodontic treatments because, like you, we have been patients too!

Orthodontic Services

At Orthodontics of the Black Hills, we provide an array of services:

  • Clear Aligners (more commonly known as Invisalign®)
There are many brands of clear aligners other than Invisalign®. Most aligners work the same way, with subtle differences in clarity and the type of plastic used. So, whether it’s the brand of Invisalign® or another brand of clear aligners, you can be confident that clear orthodontic aligners may be an option for you!
  • Traditional Dental Braces
Traditional dental braces have come a long way since the beginning days of orthodontics. With choices of metal braces, ceramic (clear) braces, or self-ligating braces, you have many options to correct your smile and/or bite.
  • Functional Orthodontics
Functional orthodontics is a technique in which functional appliances are used. As you may have guessed, functional appliances are used in function. These same appliances are great at moving bone and muscle, but not so great at moving teeth.  Functional appliances are often used in cases where it would be difficult to correct issues with just braces and elastics.
  • TMJ treatment
Here at Orthodontics of the Black Hills, we offer advanced and high-quality care for patients dealing with temporomandibular disorders and other symptoms associated with temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

Patient-Focused

We are a team-oriented practice with the goal of engaging with our patients. We will recommend custom treatment plans that best address your situation. After all, we are all unique … especially when it comes to our smiles!

Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs)

TMDs can be tricky to treat. We understand that, which is why we offer our services. We will complete a thorough evaluation and determine what treatments we can provide to best address the issue. Remember, TMDs are sneaky, and if you are concerned, it doesn’t hurt to have a consultation for yourself, your child, or your family member.
